Guided Home Under the Wings of Protection

In life’s most difficult moments, families should never have to navigate complicated logistics alone. The loss of a child is unimaginable. When that loss happens far from home, the grief can be compounded by urgent decisions, unfamiliar processes, and the overwhelming responsibility of bringing their child home.

St. Michael’s Flight exists to carry that burden—and, to our knowledge, we are the only organization dedicated exclusively to providing private air transportation after this unimaginable tragedy at no cost to their families.

We provide fully coordinated, dignified private air transportation, ensuring each child is returned home with the utmost care, respect, and compassion. From the moment we are called, our mission is to handle the details and costs so families can focus on what matters most—grieving, healing, and honoring the life of their child.

What We Do

The Only Guided, Compassionate, and Worry-Free Process Available

Coordination

We work directly with hospitals, funeral homes, and transportation partners to manage every detail.

Preparation

We assist in ensuring all necessary arrangements are properly handled for safe and respectful transport.

Air Transport

Private flights are arranged from the treating hospital’s nearest airport to the family’s home region.

Final Journey Home

No Cost to Families
We coordinate local escorts and transportation to the funeral home chosen by the family.

St. Michael’s Flight is currently establishing the aviation, medical, funeral service, and community partnerships needed to fulfill our mission. At this time, we are not accepting requests for transportation services. We invite supporters, volunteers, professional partners, and donors to join us as we build the foundation for a program dedicated to bringing children home with dignity, compassion, and care.

Service requests will become available once our operational network and support systems are fully established.

September holds special meaning for St. Michael’s Flight. It is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor children and families facing unimaginable battles, and it is also the month in which we celebrate the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel on September 29—a powerful reminder of protection, courage, and service to others.

This September, we are asking our community to help us strengthen and grow this mission through a simple pledge of $5 per week. A small, recurring gift can make a meaningful difference, helping us coordinate and provide dignified transportation for children who need to be brought home to their families—without placing a financial burden on those already facing profound loss.

Whether you choose to give weekly, monthly, or as a one-time gift, your generosity helps ensure that when a family needs St. Michael’s Flight, we are ready to answer the call.

St. Michael’s Flight is the only service of its kind dedicated exclusively to coordinating and providing private air transportation for deceased children being returned home to their families—at no cost to those families.

From the moment we are called, every step of the journey is handled with extraordinary care, compassion, and respect. St. Michael’s Flight provides careful coordination, preparation, and dignified transportation, ensuring each child is cared for gently and honorably throughout their journey home. We understand that every family grieves differently. Our process is designed to respect the wishes, traditions, and preferences of each family we serve. From initial preparation and transfer arrangements to private air transportation, ground transport, and final coordination with local funeral homes and escorts, every detail is approached with grace, sensitivity, and care.

What makes St. Michael’s Flight truly unique is that families are not simply assisted in navigating this process—they are relieved of the responsibility of arranging and funding it. By providing both the logistical coordination and financial support necessary to bring a child home, St. Michael’s Flight removes an overwhelming burden during an unimaginable time. No other service exists with this singular mission: to ensure that a family facing the loss of a child far from home never has to face the journey home alone.

At the heart of that mission is a compassionate network of pilots, funeral directors, transport professionals, care teams, and dedicated partners who make each journey possible. Every person involved understands the sacred responsibility of caring not only for the child entrusted to them, but also for the family carrying an immeasurable loss. Through quiet service, dignity, and compassion, St. Michael’s Flight provides something families cannot find anywhere else—a complete pathway home, handled with honor, grace, and love, without placing a financial burden on the family.
